Eleni Saves U was founded in 2011 by Eleni Alexiou, a stay-at-home-mom of two, Financial Coach, and Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Eleni has over 10 years of experience counseling, teaching, supervising, and coaching. The Alexiou's decided to live on one income in a two income world and make family life a priority.
The Simplifying Process
My husband and I relocated to the Metro DC area due to the economy and his job ending. Luckily we had plenty of notice and were able to scope out areas and prioritize our needs and focus on his career. I went from working full-time and paying for university day-care to becoming a stay at home mom and raising a child.
I wouldn't change this decision we made for the world. In our move we had to downsize as well as carry two housing payments, two cars, the list goes on. Then, we decided to have our 2nd child. I started researching ways to save, sell on craigslist, and taught myself to coupon. The passion grew from there. Family and friends inspired us to share with them how we created more savings in our budget. It's be a talent, I never knew I had and so glad I found. Nothing beats helping one family at a time.
To date we continue to pay down debt and rise above social demands to "have it all." Welcome it's great to have here at Eleni Saves U community.

Andrea Wilson is our cost effective menu planner. She is a stay at home mom of two and one on the way! She writes about healthy and cost effective recipe posts. She tries to cook a whole foods diet to the best of her ability while still being conscious of budget. Like Eleni she finds menu planning the most cost effective way to cook and be healthy while staying on a monthly spending plan.

Despina Danishwar is our Wardrobe Consultant. A fashion frugalista who was the fashion writer for Fashion416 and worked for Gucci. She is my cute sister-in-law and mother of one that works for a Canadian National Television Network and a International Retailer who lives in suburban Toronto.
Maria Campbell is our health conconcious menu planner mom. She contributes to weekly menu planing articles. She is a Fashion Industry professional from London, England. As a health-conscious mother of 2 preschool age children now living in the DC Metropolitan area, and concerned by the poor quality, GMO and highly processed foods on offer for children, she chooses to make nutrient-filled kid-food at home using simple, quality ingredients.
Tony Alexiou is our advertising contact. He's my loving husband that went along with crazy blogging idea. He is the publisher of I Need Politics, a news discussion blog covering all sides of the political spectrum. He also a published author whose e-book, The Fall of the Republican Party, occupied the #1 spot on Amazon in the Federal Politics category for nearly three weeks.
